About Katherine Gyles
I’m a freelance writer based in Toronto. I had an article in the September-October 2006 issue of Mothering and have also written for Cottage Life. I draw on my experience in human resources and as a mother of 2 under 5 to inspire my inquisitive and prolific writing.
I’m also a Mommy getting into my groove with every decision I make for my family. I try to listen to the voices of reason, feeling, wonder and need within me. You can hear from them in my blog.
As a corporate-type accustomed to control and acheivement, I was shocked during my pregnancy by the spiral I felt towards becoming someone’s mother. I had no idea that every decision I made revealed something about the mother I was becoming. So started the chronicles of becoming the mother I am meant to be: how Mommy got her groove back.
